Tris base is the unprotonated, free-base compound, while Tris-HCl is the pH-adjusted, acidified form. We sell both Tris Base and Tris-HCl solutions, as well as Tris-based buffer formulations, which typically combine Tris-HCl (at a specific pH) with other components, such as salts or chaotropic reagents, to achieve specific chemical conditions necessary for molecular biology, biochemical, or bioprocessing applications.
