2XYT (Yeast extract Tryptone) Agar with 2% Glucose and Carbenicillin-100 is a nutrient-rich agar medium that supports the growth and selection of carbenicillin-resistant E. coli strains. The addition of 2% glucose enhances metabolic activity and biomass yield, and 100 µg/mL carbenicillin enables effective selection of plasmid-bearing transformants.

  • 1.6% Tryptone
  • 1.0% Yeast Extract
  • 0.5% Sodium Chloride
  • 1.5% Agar
  • 2.0% Cerelose Anhydrous Dextrose (Glucose)
  • 100µg/mL Carbenicillin
  • Plasmid Selection and Maintenance: Selection of beta-lactam–resistant plasmids in E. coli using 100 µg/mL carbenicillin on a rich 2xYT base (1.6% Tryptone, 1.0% Yeast Extract, 0.5% NaCl, 1.5% Agar, 2.0% Glucose).

  • Bacterial Transformation Recovery and Plating: Efficient outgrowth and colony formation of transformed E. coli with AmpR/CarbR vectors.
