1M Tris-HCl, pH 8.3, is a high-concentration buffering solution for preparing Tris-based electrophoresis and transfer buffers, adjusting the pH of aqueous solutions, and making dilutions to desired working strengths. It is commonly used in workflows such as Tris-Glycine SDS-PAGE running buffer and blotting transfer buffer preparation, as well as nucleic acid and protein sample handling where a stable pH of 8.3 is required.

This solution can be combined with compatible salts and chelators to prepare buffers including Tris-Glycine and Tris-based buffers for protein separation and transfer procedures. It is suitable for routine laboratory applications requiring precise pH control at 8.3.

  • 1M Tris-HCl
  • Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR): Buffer component (1M Tris-HCl, pH 8.3) to maintain optimal pH for Taq polymerase.
