1M Tris-HCl, pH 10.2 is a concentrated Tris buffer standardized at pH 10.2 (25 °C) for pH control in biochemical and molecular biology workflows requiring alkaline conditions.

Used to prepare working-strength Tris-based buffers by dilution; applicable to nucleic acid and protein procedures, electrophoresis systems, and enzyme reactions conducted in the alkaline range.

The pH of Tris buffers is temperature-dependent; adjust after dilution at the intended working temperature. Keep container tightly closed to limit CO₂ absorption, which can alter pH. Prepare final buffer formulations and concentrations according to protocol requirements.

Alkaline Phosphatase Assays: Provides a high-pH environment optimal for alkaline phosphatase activity and colorimetric substrate development (e.g., NBT/BCIP).
Western Blot/IHC AP Detection: Used as the buffer for alkaline phosphatase-based detection systems to enhance signal development.
Buffer Preparation and pH Adjustment: Serves as a 1M Tris-HCl stock to prepare working buffers in the alkaline range (pH ~9–10) by dilution and fine-tuning.
