1M Tris-HCl, pH 9.0 is a Tris buffer stock in purified water, adjusted to pH 9.0 at room temperature. The 1 L fill supports laboratory and pilot-scale use.

It is commonly used to prepare alkaline Tris buffers for enzyme reactions and protein chemistry, including hydrolysis of thiosuccinimide rings in maleimide-linked conjugates to stabilize the linkage. Tris pH falls about 0.03 units per °C rise, so confirm pH at the temperature of use.
