1 M Tris-HCl, pH 8.5 is a concentrated buffering solution for preparing and maintaining pH 8.5 conditions in molecular biology and biochemistry workflows. It is commonly diluted to create working buffers for nucleic acid workflows, protein purification and chromatography steps, enzyme assays requiring controlled pH, and blotting and cell lysis buffers.

This solution provides a stable Tris-based buffer system suitable for routine laboratory methods involving DNA, RNA, and proteins where a defined pH 8.5 environment is required.

  • Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR): 1M Tris-HCl maintains optimal pH in PCR and related amplification workflows.
