1 M Tris-HCl, pH 8.4 is a Tris-based buffering solution prepared to maintain a stable alkaline pH for biochemical and molecular biology procedures. It is commonly used to prepare and adjust buffers for DNA and RNA workflows, including electrophoresis, nucleic acid extraction, and sample preparation.

This solution is suitable for applications requiring pH 8.4, such as maintaining buffer capacity in enzyme reaction mixtures, protein purification steps, and cell lysis protocols. It can be used as a stock to formulate working buffers by dilution with nuclease-free water or other components as required by the protocol.

  • 1M Tris-HCl

  • Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR): Used in PCR and qPCR mixes to maintain optimal pH for polymerase activity.
