TE Buffer, pH 8.0, is a buffering solution composed of Tris-HCl and EDTA for dissolution, resuspension, and storage of DNA and RNA. The buffering capacity of Tris maintains a stable pH, and EDTA chelates divalent cations to limit nuclease activity dependent on Mg²⁺ and other metal ions.

This solution is DNase/RNase tested and is suitable for workflows such as PCR setup, nucleic acid purification, restriction digestion, ligation, cloning, and long-term DNA storage.

  • 10mM Tris-HCl
  • 1.0mM Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA)
  • DNA Resuspension and Storage: Resuspends and preserves genomic or plasmid DNA at pH 8.0; EDTA chelates divalent cations to reduce nuclease activity.

  • Plasmid DNA Elution and Storage: Used to elute and store plasmid DNA from minipreps, maintaining integrity for downstream applications.

  • Spin-Column Elution Buffer: Serves as a gentle elution buffer for DNA/RNA from purification and gel extraction columns to maximize recovery.

  • PCR/qPCR Template and Amplicon Storage: Stabilizes DNA templates and PCR products for reliable amplification and analysis.

  • Sequencing Template Preservation: Maintains stability of DNA for Sanger or NGS library preparation and submission.

  • RNA Resuspension and Storage: DNase/RNase-tested buffer for resuspending and short- to mid-term storage of RNA samples.

  • Oligonucleotide and Probe Storage: Provides stable conditions for primers, gRNAs, and hybridization probes.

  • Quantification Standards Preparation: Used to prepare DNA/RNA standards for spectrophotometry or qPCR calibration.

  • CRISPR Reagents Storage: Preserves gRNA, ssODN, and donor DNA stability prior to genome editing workflows.

  • DNA Storage for Bacterial Transformation: Stores plasmid DNA intended for transformation into E. coli while preserving integrity.
