0.1M Sodium Citrate, pH 3.6 is a ready-to-use citrate buffer in purified water, adjusted to pH 3.6 at 25 °C. The 1 L fill supports laboratory and pilot-scale purification.

It is commonly used as a mildly low-pH elution buffer for affinity chromatography, including Protein A capture of antibodies, where citrate elution lets the eluate go directly into a low-pH viral inactivation hold.

  • 100mM Citric Acid (Anhydrous)
  • Protein A Elution: Low-pH citrate buffer for releasing bound antibody from Protein A resin.
  • Low-pH Viral Inactivation: Acidic reagent for the low-pH hold that inactivates enveloped viruses in antibody purification.
  • HPLC and LC-MS Mobile Phases: Citrate buffer for low-pH HPLC mobile phases.
  • Ion-Exchange Chromatography: Citrate buffer for pH-based elution and regeneration in ion-exchange chromatography.
  • Antibody Stripping and Acid Dissociation: Low-pH citrate buffer for dissociating antibody–antigen complexes and stripping bound antibodies.
  • Biophysical and Stability Studies: Low-pH buffer for acid stress and stability studies of proteins.
  • Enzyme Assays: Citrate buffer for enzyme reactions in the acidic range.
  • Phage and Virus Recovery: Low-pH citrate buffer for eluting virus particles from surfaces.
  • pH Adjustment and Titration: Citrate buffer for lowering sample pH.
  • Viral Vector Production and Purification: Low-pH citrate buffer for affinity elution of viral vectors.
  • Enzyme Quenching and Metal Chelation: Citrate buffer for chelating divalent metals and stopping enzyme reactions at low pH.
  • Harvest Acid Precipitation: Acidic reagent for lowering harvest pH to precipitate cell debris, host cell proteins, and DNA ahead of depth filtration.
