60% Sucrose is a ready-to-use solution of sucrose in purified water. The 1 L fill supports laboratory and pilot-scale use.

It is commonly used as a high-strength sucrose stock for stabilizing proteins and biologics against freeze–thaw and drying stress, and for density gradients and cushions in ultracentrifugation. Mix well before use, since the solution is viscous.

  • 60% Sucrose Solution
  • Protein and Enzyme Stabilization: Sucrose stock for stabilizing proteins and enzymes during storage, freeze–thaw, and drying.
  • Density Gradient Centrifugation: Sucrose solution for forming density gradients and cushions in ultracentrifugation.
  • Viral Vector Production and Purification: Sucrose for density cushions and gradients that concentrate and purify virus particles.
  • Polysome and Ribosome Profiling: Sucrose solution for separating polysomes and ribosomal subunits on density gradients.
  • Organelle and Membrane Fractionation: Sucrose solution for isolating organelles, membranes, and membrane vesicles by density.
  • Protoplast and Spheroplast Handling: Osmotic stabilizer for forming, handling, and regenerating protoplasts and spheroplasts.
  • Extracellular Vesicle Isolation: Sucrose solution for density-based isolation of exosomes and extracellular vesicles.
  • Osmolality Adjustment and Osmotic Stress Studies: Osmolyte for adjusting osmolality and for osmotic stress and protoplast-handling work.
  • Microbial Transformation and Electroporation Recovery: Osmotic support for preparing competent cells and recovering cells after transformation.
  • Nucleic Acid Gel Electrophoresis: Sucrose for increasing sample density in gel loading buffers.
