200 mM sodium acetate buffer adjusted to pH 5.5. Endotoxin tested.

Used as an acetate buffering solution for nucleic acid precipitation protocols, pH control in biochemical procedures, and microbial workflows requiring mildly acidic conditions, including procedures involving E. coli.

  • 200mM Sodium Acetate
  • DNA/RNA Precipitation and Cleanup: 200mM Sodium Acetate, pH 5.5 is commonly added prior to ethanol or isopropanol to precipitate and wash nucleic acids.

  • Enzyme Assays at Acidic pH: Provides a stable pH 5.5 environment with 200mM Sodium Acetate for acid-optimal enzymes and activity screens.

  • Cation Exchange Chromatography: Used as equilibration and elution buffer (pH 5.5) for proteins and capsids on SP/CM resins; 200mM Sodium Acetate maintains ionic strength.

  • Viral Vector Purification/Formulation: 200mM Sodium Acetate, pH 5.5 is frequently used for AAV purification steps and low-pH formulation buffers.

  • Buffer Exchange and Dialysis: Maintains pH 5.5 during desalting/dialysis to condition samples for downstream processing.

  • Protein Stabilization/Storage: Supports stability of acid-stable proteins/peptides at pH 5.5; 200mM Sodium Acetate provides consistent buffering capacity.

  • Ion-Exchange HPLC Methods: Serves as a pH 5.5 mobile/buffer component where non-volatile salts are acceptable; 200mM Sodium Acetate controls ionic strength.

  • Endotoxin-Sensitive Workflows: Sterile, endotoxin-tested 200mM Sodium Acetate, pH 5.5 is suited for LAL-compatible buffers and bioprocess steps requiring low endotoxin.

  • pH: 5.50 ± 0.04
  • Endotoxin: ≤0.25EU/mL
