A neutral pH 7.4 sodium phosphate buffer containing a chelating agent and a nonionic surfactant, prepared with low-ionic-strength components to maintain biological macromolecule integrity and reduce metal ion–mediated reactions. The solution provides consistent buffering capacity around physiological pH.

Suitable for protein and nucleic acid workflows, including sample preparation, storage, and dilution, as well as immunoassays (e.g., ELISA), Western blot wash and block steps, and general biochemical procedures that benefit from minimized nonspecific interactions and controlled metal ion availability.
