0.1M Sodium Acetate, pH 3.5 is a ready-to-use acetate buffer in purified water, adjusted to pH 3.5 at 25 °C. The 1 L fill supports laboratory and pilot-scale purification.

It is commonly used as a low-pH elution buffer for affinity chromatography, including Protein A capture of antibodies, where acetate elution lets the eluate go directly into a low-pH viral inactivation hold.

  • Protein A Elution: Low-pH acetate buffer for releasing bound antibody from Protein A resin.
  • Nucleic Acid Precipitation and Cleanup: Acetate buffer for ethanol precipitation of nucleic acids.
  • Ion-Exchange Chromatography: Low-pH acetate buffer for equilibration and elution in ion-exchange chromatography.
  • HPLC and LC-MS Mobile Phases: Acetate buffer for low-pH HPLC mobile phases.
  • Enzyme Assays: Acetate buffer for enzyme reactions in the acidic range.
  • Buffer Exchange and Dialysis: Target buffer for desalting, dialysis, and ultrafiltration/diafiltration of proteins and other biomolecules.
  • Mass Spectrometry Sample Preparation: Reagent for preparing and conditioning samples for MALDI and ESI mass spectrometry.
