SOBAG Agar Plates with 2% glucose and Ampicillin-100 are solid media formulated for cultivation and selection of ampicillin-resistant E. coli. The SOB base provides yeast extract and tryptone as nutrient sources, sodium chloride for osmotic balance, and magnesium ions; agar serves as the gelling agent. Glucose supplies a readily metabolizable carbon source, and 100 µg/mL ampicillin sodium salt enables selection of plasmid-bearing transformants.

Recommended for routine propagation and maintenance of ampicillin-resistant E. coli strains in applications requiring a glucose-supplemented SOB agar platform with antibiotic selection.
