1 M Sodium Acetate Buffer pH 5.0 (Protease-Tested) is an acetate-based buffering solution prepared to a nominal concentration of 1 mol/L and adjusted to pH 5.0 at room temperature. The buffer provides pH control within the acidic range commonly used for biochemical procedures that require acetate as the counterion.

The solution is tested for protease activity to verify suitability for workflows sensitive to proteolytic degradation. Typical applications include pH stabilization in sample preparation, chromatographic steps requiring acetate buffering, and protocols such as nucleic acid precipitation where sodium acetate at pH 5.0 is specified.
