1 M Sodium Phosphate Buffer, pH 7.2, DNase/RNase Tested is a 1.0 mol/L phosphate buffering solution adjusted to pH 7.2 at 25 °C. It is suited for preparing working dilutions, sample resuspension, protein and nucleic acid handling, buffer exchange, and column equilibration in biochemical and microbiological procedures, including workflows involving E. coli.

The solution is tested to be free of detectable DNase and RNase. Store at 2–8 °C.

  • 150mM Sodium Phosphate Monobasic
  • 850mM Sodium Phosphate Dibasic.

  • Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR): Used to prepare and dilute PCR components, maintaining pH 7.2 for polymerase activity.

  • Gel Electrophoresis: Component of running and transfer buffers, providing stable pH for nucleic acid and protein separation.

  • Protein Purification: Common in ion-exchange chromatography and buffer exchange to stabilize proteins at near-neutral pH.

  • Enzyme Assays: Maintains consistent pH to support reliable enzymatic kinetics and activity measurements.

  • Nucleic Acid Work (DNA/RNA): DNase/RNase-tested buffer for sample dilution, storage, and hybridization washes.

  • Immunoassays (ELISA/Western Blot): Used in coating, blocking, and wash buffers to preserve antigen–antibody interactions.

  • Cell and Bacterial Workflows: Resuspension and washing of cell pellets; routine handling of Escherichia coli cultures.

  • Sample Preparation and Dialysis: Provides a stable ionic environment for desalting and buffer exchange.

  • Spectrophotometry: Used as a blank and for sample dilution to minimize background at 260–280 nm.
