10X PBS Solution, Non-Sterile is a concentrated phosphate-buffered saline stock intended for dilution to 1X with sterile, nuclease-free water. When diluted 1:10, it provides physiological ionic strength and buffering capacity near neutral pH for routine washing, dilution, and transport of cells and tissues.

Applications include rinsing adherent cultures, resuspending cell pellets, preparing reagent dilutions, and maintaining osmotic balance during handling of microbial and mammalian cells, including E. coli. This product is supplied non-sterile; sterilize by filtration after dilution as required by downstream use.

Contains phosphate and chloride salts; avoid use with reagents or procedures incompatible with phosphate buffers or high ionic strength. Store at ambient temperature and protect from contamination. Not intended for therapeutic or parenteral use.

  • 1.35M Sodium Chloride
  • 27mM Potassium Chloride
  • 43mM Sodium Phosphate Dibasic
  • 14mM Potassium Phosphate Monobasic

  • Cell Culture: Washing monolayers and suspending cells at physiological ionic strength; resuspending cell pellets.

  • Immunoassays (ELISA): Plate washing and sample/antibody dilution to minimize nonspecific binding.

  • Western Blotting: Membrane washing and antibody dilution while maintaining isotonic conditions.

  • Flow Cytometry: Cell staining, washing, and resuspension without disrupting cell integrity.

  • Microscopy/IHC/ICC: Tissue and cell washing, blocking buffer preparation, and reagent dilution.

  • Sample Dilution & Reagent Prep: General isotonic diluent for proteins and nucleic acids compatible with 1.35M NaCl, 27mM KCl, 43mM Na2HPO4, 14mM KH2PO4 (10X) formulations.

  • Bacterial Workflows: Washing and resuspending pellets of Escherichia coli (E. coli) and other Staphylococcus/Bacillus species.

  • Protein Purification: Column equilibration and wash steps (e.g., desalting, affinity) requiring physiological pH and ionic strength.

  • Buffer Exchange/Dialysis: External buffer to maintain consistent osmolarity during exchange into PBS.

  • Cell Counting/Viability Assays: Washing and diluting cells for trypan blue exclusion or automated counters.
