10X PBS Modified Formula is a concentrated phosphate-buffered saline designed for routine laboratory use in maintaining pH and osmotic balance across biological workflows. It is prepared with sodium chloride, potassium chloride, and phosphate salts and is free of calcium and magnesium.

Intended for dilution to a 1X working solution (1:10 with high-purity water), it is suitable for washing adherent and suspension cells, rinsing bacterial cultures such as E. coli, preparing reagent dilutions, and serving as an isotonic buffer in immunoassays and general sample handling.

  • 161.8mM Dipotassium Phosphate
  • 38.2mM Monopotassium Phosphate
  • 1.37M Sodium Chloride
  • 27mM Potassium Chloride

  • Cell Culture Wash Buffer: Rinses adherent and suspension cells, maintaining isotonic conditions during media changes and enzyme removal.

  • Immunoassays (ELISA/Western Blot): Used as a wash and dilution buffer for antibodies to minimize nonspecific binding.

  • Flow Cytometry: Serves as a staining and wash buffer to preserve cell integrity and reduce background.

  • Microscopy/Immunofluorescence: Provides gentle, isotonic washes to reduce background signal during staining protocols.

  • Sample and Reagent Dilution: Dilutes proteins, peptides, and reagents while maintaining physiological pH and ionic strength.

  • Cell Resuspension and Counting: Resuspends cell pellets for hemocytometer or automated counting without affecting morphology.

  • Tissue and Cell Transport: Acts as an isotonic carrier for short-term handling and transfer of samples.

  • Bacterial Cell Handling: Washes and resuspends Escherichia coli pellets without providing nutrients, aiding downstream processing.
