50mM MES, pH 6.0 is a ready-to-use, low-salt MES buffer in purified water, adjusted to pH 6.0 at 25 °C. MES buffers most effectively near its pKa of about 6.1. The 1 L fill supports laboratory and pilot-scale purification.

It is commonly used as a low-salt equilibration and binding buffer for cation-exchange chromatography, paired with a high-salt MES buffer for step or gradient elution. It also serves as the low-salt eluent for cation-exchange HPLC of protein charge variants.

  • 50mM MES Free Acid Monohydrate
  • Cation-Exchange Polishing: Low-salt MES buffer for cation-exchange equilibration and binding during antibody polishing.
  • Protein Electrophoresis: MES buffer for running Bis-Tris SDS-PAGE gels.
  • Enzyme Assays: MES buffer for enzyme reactions near pH 6.
  • Protein Conjugation and Immobilization: Amine-free buffer for coupling, labeling, and immobilizing proteins, including EDC/NHS and NHS-ester chemistries.
  • Buffer Exchange and Dialysis: Target buffer for desalting, dialysis, and ultrafiltration/diafiltration of proteins and other biomolecules.
  • HPLC and LC-MS Mobile Phases: MES buffer for HPLC mobile phases near pH 6.
  • IEX Mobile Phase: Low-salt MES eluent for cation-exchange HPLC of antibody and ADC charge variants.
