M9 Minimal Salts Broth without Glucose is a defined minimal medium for cultivation and selection of recombinant and wild-type E. coli strains under controlled carbon-source conditions. The absence of glucose allows supplementation with user-specified carbon sources, and the inclusion of thiamine along with magnesium and calcium provides essential cofactors for growth in minimal media; antibiotics may be added as required for plasmid maintenance.

  • 5.0µg/mL Thiamine
  • 1.0mM Magnesium Sulfate
  • 0.1mM Calcium Chloride
  • Defined Minimal Culturing: Supports growth and maintenance of Escherichia coli and other enteric bacteria in a chemically defined medium (1.0X M9 Salts, 5.0µg/mL thiamine, 1.0mM MgSO4, 0.1mM CaCl2).
