LB Broth with Kanamycin-25 is a nutrient medium formulated for cultivation and selection of kanamycin-resistant E. coli strains. The LB base provides peptides, amino acids, vitamins, and sodium chloride to support bacterial growth in liquid culture.

Kanamycin sulfate at 25 µg/mL enables selection and maintenance of plasmid-bearing transformants, facilitating propagation of recombinant E. coli in shaking or static incubation.

  • 1.0% Tryptone
  • 0.5% Yeast Extract
  • 1.0% Sodium Chloride
  • 25µg/mL Kanamycin Sulfate
  • Selection and Maintenance: Growth and selection of kanamycin-resistant Escherichia coli in liquid culture.

  • Plasmid Propagation: Amplification of kanamycin-selectable plasmids for cloning workflows.

  • Overnight Cultures for DNA Prep: Cultivation of kan-resistant E. coli for mini/midi/maxi plasmid preparations.

  • Recombinant Protein Expression: Induction and growth of E. coli carrying kanamycin-selectable expression vectors.

  • Starter Cultures: Preparation of seed inocula for larger-scale flasks or fermentation runs.

  • Glycerol Stock Preparation: Long-term storage of kanamycin-resistant E. coli strains.

  • Liquid Colony Screening: 96-well or tube-based screening of transformants under kanamycin selection.

  • Strain Construction Workflows: Maintenance of intermediate constructs carrying kanamycin resistance cassettes.

  • Post-Transformation Selection: Enrichment of kan-resistant transformants after recovery steps.

  • Quality Control Culturing: Verification of plasmid retention and antibiotic susceptibility in E. coli stocks.

  • pH: 7.00 ± 0.10
