LB Agar Plates with Ampicillin-100 are nutrient-rich agar plates based on LB medium and supplemented with 100 µg/mL ampicillin sodium salt. This medium supports the growth and selection of ampicillin-resistant E. coli strains and facilitates maintenance of plasmid-bearing transformants.

1.0% Tryptone
0.5% Yeast Extract
1.0% Sodium Chloride
1.5% Agar
100µg/mL Ampicillin Sodium Salt

Selection of Ampicillin-Resistant Transformants: Isolates colonies carrying AmpR plasmids in E. coli after transformation.
Plasmid Cloning and Maintenance: Maintains selective pressure for plasmid-bearing E. coli during routine subculture.
Blue-White Screening: Enables lacZ-based clone screening in E. coli when supplemented with X-Gal/IPTG.
Colony Isolation and Purification: Streaks for single colonies to obtain clonal AmpR E. coli populations.
Library Construction and Screening: Selects recombinant libraries and facilitates replica plating under ampicillin selection in E. coli.
Protein Expression Plasmid Selection: Maintains expression vectors with AmpR in production or induction strains of E. coli.
Competent Cell QC: Verifies transformation efficiency and antibiotic selection fidelity in E. coli.
Miniprep/Maxiprep Pre-culture Colony Picking: Sources verified AmpR colonies for downstream plasmid DNA preparation from E. coli.
