LB Agar Plates with Carbenicillin-100 are solid media used for growth and selection of carbenicillin-resistant E. coli strains.

The inclusion of carbenicillin disodium salt at 100 µg/mL enables selection of plasmid-bearing transformants and facilitates maintenance of carbenicillin-selectable plasmids.

1.0% Tryptone
0.5% Yeast Extract
1.0% Sodium Chloride
1.5% Agar
100µg/mL Carbenicillin Disodium Salt

Plasmid Selection and Maintenance: Selects and stabilizes bla (AmpR) plasmids in Escherichia coli, with reduced satellite colony formation versus ampicillin.
Bacterial Transformation Screening: Recovers and identifies transformants after heat-shock or electroporation on 100 µg/mL carbenicillin.
Colony Picking and Expansion: Isolates single AmpR colonies for minipreps, sequencing, and strain propagation.
Blue-White Screening: Supports lacZ α-complementation with X-gal/IPTG to distinguish recombinants on AmpR background.
Protein Expression Workflows: Maintains AmpR expression vectors in Escherichia coli prior to induction and scale-up.
CRISPR/Genome Editing Cloning: Selects gRNA/Cas plasmids in Escherichia coli during construct assembly and verification.
Library Construction and Maintenance: Propagates cDNA, gRNA, or mutant libraries carried on AmpR plasmids.
Glycerol Stock Preparation: Generates long-term stocks from verified AmpR colonies for reproducible workflows.
