LB Agar Plates with Kanamycin-30 provide a solid medium for growth and selection of kanamycin-resistant E. coli strains. Kanamycin sulfate at 30 µg/mL suppresses nonresistant cells, supporting maintenance of plasmids bearing kanamycin resistance markers during cloning and routine propagation.

  • 1.0% Tryptone
  • 0.5% Yeast Extract
  • 1.0% Sodium Chloride
  • 1.5% Agar
  • 30µg/mL Kanamycin Sulfate
  • Antibiotic-Resistant Clone Selection: Selects transformants carrying kanamycin-resistance markers (e.g., nptII/kanR) in Escherichia coli using 30µg/mL kanamycin.

  • Plasmid Maintenance and Propagation: Maintains plasmids with kanamycin resistance in Escherichia coli and related bacteria (e.g., Salmonella enterica).

  • Colony Screening After Transformation: Enables identification of recombinant colonies on selective LB agar prior to colony PCR or sequencing.
