LB Agar Plates with Kanamycin-50 and Spectinomycin-100 are agar-based media used for growth and dual-antibiotic selection of kanamycin- and spectinomycin-resistant E. coli strains. The inclusion of 50 µg/mL kanamycin sulfate and 100 µg/mL spectinomycin dihydrochloride pentahydrate enables selection and maintenance of plasmid-bearing transformants carrying the corresponding resistance markers.

  • 1.0% Tryptone
  • 0.5% Yeast Extract
  • 1.0% Sodium Chloride
  • 1.5% Agar
  • 50µg/mL Kanamycin Sulfate
  • 100µg/mL Spectinomycin Dihydrochloride Pentahydrate
  • Cloning and Transformation Selection: Dual-antibiotic selection of recombinant E. coli transformants carrying kanamycin- and spectinomycin-resistance markers.

  • Plasmid Maintenance: Stable propagation of two-plasmid systems in E. coli requiring 50 µg/mL kanamycin and 100 µg/mL spectinomycin.

  • Co-Transformation Screening: Recovery and screening of colonies co-transformed with kanamycin- and spectinomycin-marked constructs.
