LB Agar Plates with Ampicillin-100 and Chloramphenicol-25 are a nutrient-rich agar medium for growth and dual-antibiotic selection of ampicillin- and chloramphenicol-resistant E. coli strains. The LB base provides general nutritional support for routine cultivation and maintenance of laboratory strains.

100 µg/mL ampicillin sodium salt and 25 µg/mL chloramphenicol enable selection of plasmid-bearing transformants and maintenance of constructs carrying beta-lactamase (bla) and chloramphenicol acetyltransferase (cat) markers, including co-transformants and dual-selection plasmids in E. coli.

  • 1% Tryptone
  • 0.5% Yeast extract
  • 1.0% Sodium chloride
  • 1.5% Agar
  • 100µg/mL Ampicillin Sodium Salt
  • 25µg/mL Chloramphenicol

  • Dual-Antibiotic Plasmid Selection: Selects and maintains plasmids conferring ampicillin and chloramphenicol resistance in Escherichia coli.

  • Co-Transformation and Dual-Plasmid Maintenance: Supports strains carrying two compatible plasmids (e.g., expression vector AmpR plus regulator/helper plasmid CmR).

  • BAC/Fosmid Cloning Workflows: Selects chloramphenicol-resistant BACs/fosmids and AmpR helper or accessory plasmids in Escherichia coli.

  • Phage Display and Helper Plasmid Systems: Maintains AmpR phagemids alongside CmR M13 helper plasmids for library propagation in Escherichia coli.

  • Colony Screening After Cloning: Enables colony picking, verification PCR, and sequencing prep from dual-resistant Escherichia coli colonies.

  • Pre-Expression Strain Qualification: Prescreens recombinant Escherichia coli carrying both required plasmids prior to induction in liquid culture.

  • CRISPR/Cas Genome Editing: Maintains Cas (e.g., AmpR) and guide/repair (e.g., CmR) plasmids simultaneously in Escherichia coli.

  • Archiving and Distribution: Prepares glycerol stocks and master cell banks from verified dual-resistant Escherichia coli clones.
