LB Agar Plates with Chloramphenicol-34 and Kanamycin-50 are agar-based media for cultivation and selection of chloramphenicol- and kanamycin-resistant E. coli strains. The medium supports routine growth of laboratory E. coli, while 34 µg/mL chloramphenicol and 50 µg/mL kanamycin sulfate provide dual antibiotic selection for maintenance of compatible resistance markers.

  • 1.0% Tryptone
  • 0.5% Yeast Extract
  • 1.0% Sodium Chloride
  • 1.5% Agar
  • 34µg/mL Chloramphenicol
  • 50µg/mL Kanamycin Sulfate
  • Dual-Antibiotic Selection of Transformants: Isolates colonies carrying chloramphenicol- and kanamycin-resistance plasmids in E. coli.

  • Co-Transformation and Multi-Plasmid Maintenance: Maintains compatible plasmid systems (e.g., expression + helper) under combined selection in E. coli.

  • Cloning Workflow Screening: Selects correct constructs after Gibson/Golden Gate cloning using dual resistance markers.

  • Genome Editing and Recombineering: Selects edits incorporating chloramphenicol/kanamycin cassettes or dual-marker landing pads.

  • Colony Isolation and CFU Enumeration: Purifies colonies and quantifies transformation efficiency under dual selection.

  • Plasmid Stability Assays: Evaluates segregational and structural stability of dual-marker plasmids across passages.

  • Conjugation and Mobilization Selection: Recovers transconjugants bearing chloramphenicol/kanamycin markers.

  • Transposon Mutagenesis Screens: Selects insertions using Cm/Kan markers and enables combinatorial selections.

  • Library Maintenance and Screening: Sustains and screens variant libraries requiring dual antibiotic pressure.

  • Strain Archiving and Verification: Maintains and confirms identity of strains carrying Cm/Kan resistance in E. coli.
