LB Agar Plates with Ampicillin-50 and Chloramphenicol-34 are solid Luria–Bertani agar media formulated for growth and dual antibiotic selection of plasmid-bearing E. coli strains. The medium includes 50 µg/mL ampicillin sodium salt and 34 µg/mL chloramphenicol to enable simultaneous selection for β-lactam and chloramphenicol resistance markers.

These plates are intended for plating, colony isolation, and maintenance of transformants carrying compatible ampicillin and chloramphenicol resistance cassettes in E. coli.

  • 1.0% Tryptone
  • 0.5% Yeast Extract
  • 1.0% Sodium Chloride
  • 1.5% Agar
  • 50µg/mL Ampicillin Sodium Salt
  • 34µg/mL Chloramphenicol
  • Dual-Antibiotic Selection of Transformants: Isolates Escherichia coli colonies carrying plasmids with ampicillin (bla) and chloramphenicol (cat) resistance markers.

  • Maintenance of Two-Plasmid Systems: Ensures stable co-maintenance of amp- and cm-resistant plasmids in Escherichia coli co-expression or helper plasmid setups.

  • Colony Screening and Picking: Enables selection and picking of single colonies post-transformation under dual antibiotic pressure for downstream cloning.
