1M HEPES, pH 8.0 is a HEPES stock in purified water, adjusted to pH 8.0. HEPES has a pKa of about 7.5 at 25 °C. The 1 L fill supports laboratory and pilot-scale use.

It is commonly used to buffer cell culture, enzyme, and protein chemistry work in the pH 7–8 range, including amine-reactive (NHS-ester) labeling and conjugation, since HEPES has no primary amines. Dilute 50 mL to 1 L for 50 mM HEPES.
