100 mM HEPES, pH 7.0, is a ready-to-use biological buffer formulated at physiological pH to stabilize hydrogen ion concentration in aqueous solutions. HEPES (4-(2-hydroxyethyl)-1-piperazineethanesulfonic acid) is a zwitterionic Good’s buffer with a pKa near 7.5 at 25 °C and an effective buffering range around pH 6.8–8.2, providing stable pH control in cell culture media, microbial workflows involving E. coli, protein purification, and nucleic acid assays.

This buffer is suitable for preparing reagents, diluents, and wash solutions where phosphate or Tris components are not desired, and where minimal optical interference in the UV range is required. The 100 mM concentration offers convenient dilution to working strengths for biochemical experiments, assay development, and imaging applications that require consistent pH 7.0 conditions.
