1M Glycine, pH 3.0 is a glycine concentrate in purified water, adjusted to pH 3.0. The 1 L fill makes 10 L of 0.1 M elution buffer.

It is commonly used to prepare 0.1 M glycine elution buffer for Protein A, Protein G, and immunoaffinity chromatography, and for immunoprecipitation. Dilute 100 mL to 1 L for 0.1 M glycine, then verify pH, since dilution shifts it.

  • Antibody Stripping and Acid Dissociation: Low-pH glycine buffer for dissociating antibody–antigen complexes and stripping bound antibodies from cells, membranes, and surfaces.
  • Ion-Exchange Chromatography: Glycine buffer for low-pH elution and regeneration in ion-exchange chromatography.
  • Low-pH Viral Inactivation: Acidic reagent for the low-pH hold that inactivates enveloped viruses in antibody purification.
  • Immunoprecipitation and Pull-Down: Buffer for washing and eluting immunoprecipitation and pull-down assays.
  • Mass Spectrometry Sample Preparation: Reagent for preparing and conditioning samples for MALDI and ESI mass spectrometry.
  • Protein Crystallization: Glycine buffer for low-pH protein crystallization screens.
