70% Glucose is a concentrated, ready-to-use glucose stock intended for laboratory use as a carbon source in culture media and process solutions. It is suitable for preparation and supplementation of bacterial, yeast, and cell culture media, including workflows involving E. coli and Saccharomyces cerevisiae.

Applications include adjusting glucose levels in complex and defined media, preparing feed solutions for bioprocessing, and supporting analytical or reagent preparation where a high-strength glucose source is required.

  • 70% Glucose Solution
  • Microbial Culture Media Supplementation: Concentrated carbon source for LB, M9, and other defined media to support growth of Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, and similar organisms.

  • Fed-Batch Fermentation Feed: Sterile glucose feed for controlled carbon delivery in bioreactors for E. coli and other microbes, minimizing overflow metabolism.

  • Yeast Cultivation and Fermentation: Carbon source for Saccharomyces cerevisiae growth, ethanol production, and metabolic engineering workflows.

  • Cell Culture Media Adjustment: Used to raise glucose concentration in DMEM and other media for high-glucose mammalian cell culture conditions.

  • Glucose Uptake and Metabolism Assays: Preparation of substrates and standards for enzymatic glucose assays and transporter studies.

  • Osmotic Stress Studies: Modulates osmolarity in microbial and cell-based experiments to probe stress responses.

  • Agar Plate Preparation: Carbon source for minimal and selective plates (e.g., M9-glucose) for cloning and selection of E. coli.

  • Biofilm and Pathogenesis Models: Defined carbon input for biofilm formation assays, including studies with Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
