50% (w/w) Glucose is a sterile, ready-to-use solution of anhydrous D-glucose (dextrose) in purified water. The concentration is defined on a weight-per-weight basis: 50 g of glucose per 100 g of final solution. This is not equivalent to 50% (w/v) — the mass of glucose per liter depends on solution density. The 1 L fill supports high-volume laboratory and pilot-scale preparation.

It is commonly used as a concentrated feed where glucose is dosed by mass rather than volume. The weight-per-weight basis matches gravimetric feed control in fed-batch fermentation, where feed is metered by balance or load cell. Confirm solution density on the lot documentation before converting a mass-based specification into a volumetric addition or an analytical standard.

  • 50% (w/w) Anhydrous Glucose (Dextrose) in Water
  • Microbial Culture Supplementation: Sterile carbon source added to broth and agar media for growth of Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and other bacteria.
