Friis Mycoplasma Base Medium is a dry basal medium for culturing Mycoplasma species. It combines complex nutrients with mineral salts and phosphate buffers, and includes phenol red as a pH indicator. The 500 g pack supports repeated broth preparation.

It is commonly used to prepare broth for culture-based mycoplasma testing of cell banks, cell cultures, and biologic production samples. Supplement with serum and other additives as the test method specifies, and sterilize the prepared broth before use.
