100 mg/mL Carbenicillin Solution is a beta-lactam antibiotic stock used for selection and maintenance of plasmid-bearing, beta-lactam–resistant strains of E. coli and other Gram-negative bacteria. When diluted into growth media, working concentrations of 50–100 µg/mL are used for selection of transformants expressing β-lactamase, with 100 µg/mL commonly applied on agar plates for colony selection.

  • 100mg/mL Carbenicillin Disodium Salt

  • Bacterial Plasmid Selection: Selects for bla (ampicillin/carbenicillin) resistance in E. coli during cloning and protein expression.

  • Plate and Media Supplementation: Added to LB/agar to maintain plasmids and minimize satellite colonies compared to ampicillin.

  • Blue/White Screening Workflows: Used on selective plates with IPTG/X‑gal for colony screening of recombinant clones in E. coli.

  • Plant Transformation Workflows: Eliminates residual Agrobacterium tumefaciens after co-cultivation and supports plant tissue regeneration.

  • Agrobacterium Vector Maintenance: Selects bla-bearing binary vectors in Agrobacterium strains.

  • Pseudomonad Suppression: Inhibits growth of Pseudomonas spp., including P. aeruginosa, in mixed cultures.
