7.5M Ammonium Acetate is a concentrated ammonium acetate stock in purified water. Ammonium acetate is volatile, so it leaves no salt residue on drying. The 250 mL fill suits bench-scale analytical work.

It is commonly used to prepare volatile buffers for native and intact protein mass spectrometry and LC-MS mobile phases, and for nucleic acid precipitation. Dilute 20 mL to 1 L for 150 mM.

  • MS-Compatible Buffer Exchange: Volatile salt for exchanging antibodies and ADCs into MS-compatible buffer before intact and middle-up mass analysis.
  • Nucleic Acid Precipitation and Cleanup: Ammonium acetate for nucleic acid precipitation that leaves free nucleotides in solution.
  • HPLC and LC-MS Mobile Phases: Volatile salt for LC-MS-compatible mobile phases.
  • Buffer Exchange and Dialysis: Target buffer for desalting, dialysis, and ultrafiltration/diafiltration of proteins and other biomolecules.
  • Protein Precipitation and Fractionation: Salt for precipitating, fractionating, and concentrating proteins by salting out.
  • Capillary Electrophoresis: Volatile salt for capillary electrophoresis running buffers and sample preparation.
  • pH Adjustment and Titration: Volatile salt for adjusting pH and ionic strength of MS samples.
  • Metabolomics and Lipidomics: Volatile salt for sample preparation and mobile phases in metabolomics and lipidomics.
