50% (w/w) Glucose Solution is a ready-to-use aqueous solution of D-(+)-glucose at 0.50 g/mL (approximately 2.8 M), prepared from anhydrous dextrose and purified water. The solution is clear and colorless, with a typical pH in the range of 3.2–6.5. Density is approximately 1.23 g/mL at 20 °C.

This concentrated glucose source is suitable for supplementing microbial and cell culture media, fermentation feeds, and biochemical assays requiring a defined carbohydrate component. It can be used to provide a carbon source in media such as LB, TB, 2XYT, and M9 for cultivation of organisms including E. coli.

  • 50% (w/w) Cerelose Anhydrous Dextrose (Glucose) Solution
  • Microbial Culture Supplementation: Primary carbon source for growth of Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, and other bacteria in rich and minimal media.

  • Fed-Batch Fermentation Feed: Controlled glucose feeding to optimize biomass and recombinant protein/plasmid production while minimizing overflow metabolism.

  • Minimal and Defined Media Preparation: Used to formulate M9, MOPS, and other defined media for metabolic and genetic studies in Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

  • Mammalian Cell Culture Supplementation: Energy source for CHO, HEK293, and other cell lines; adjustment of media glucose concentration for growth and productivity studies.

  • Analytical Assays and Standards: Preparation of calibration curves and controls for glucose oxidase/peroxidase assays, HPLC, and biosensor validation.

  • Osmolarity Adjustment: Tuning osmotic strength in microbial and cell culture media to study osmoregulation and improve cell viability.

  • Biofilm and Metabolic Regulation Studies: Modulates catabolite repression, glycolytic flux, and biofilm formation in organisms such as Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli.

  • Agar and Plate Media Supplementation: Added to LB, TB, and specialized agar formulations to support colony growth and phenotype screening of Escherichia coli.
