AAV Affinity Storage Buffer is a neutral, phosphate-based solution formulated for holding adeno-associated virus affinity chromatography fractions during processing and storage. The isotonic buffering system maintains stable pH near neutrality, supporting the structural integrity of AAV capsids in collected eluates and pooled fractions.

The inclusion of an alcohol acts as a preservative to reduce microbial proliferation during bench handling and storage. This buffer is suitable for sample dilution, fraction collection, and short-term storage of AAV-containing preparations prior to further purification, analysis, or formulation steps.

  • 39mM Sodium Phosphate Monobasic
  • 61mM Sodium Phosphate Dibasic
  • 20% Ethanol
  • Adjusted to pH 7.0
  • Affinity Resin Storage: Stores AAV affinity chromatography media/columns in 20% ethanol at pH 7.0 to prevent microbial growth and maintain resin integrity.

  • Column Preservation Between Runs: Used to flush and hold columns for short- or long-term storage after purification campaigns.

  • Resin Sanitization/Conditioning: Rinses/soaks resin pre- and post-use to inhibit microbial contamination and keep media ready for reuse.

  • Wet Storage of Pre-packed Columns: Maintains hydration and ligand stability during shipping or idle periods.

  • System/Column Shutdown Buffer: Applied after cleaning-in-place to leave columns in appropriate storage conditions.

  • Buffer Exchange to Storage Conditions for Resin: Transitions resin from process buffers to phosphate/ethanol storage conditions.

  • pH: 7.00 ± 0.10
