Mammalian Cell Lysis Buffer is a detergent-based Tris–salt solution formulated for chemical disruption of mammalian cell membranes and solubilization of cellular proteins. The composition includes Tris base, sodium chloride, and a nonionic surfactant, adjusted to pH 8.5.

This product is provided as a 10X concentrate for dilution to 1X prior to use. The supplied volume is intended to process up to 5 liters of mammalian cell culture harvest.

  • Membrane Protein Solubilization: Nonionic detergent (0.5% Tween-20 at 1X) aids extraction of membrane-associated proteins while preserving complexes.

  • High-Salt Washes for Affinity Purification: Serves as a base for stringent wash buffers to reduce nonspecific binding.

  • Reporter Assays: Prepares cell lysates for luciferase, β-galactosidase, and similar reporter readouts.

  • Nucleic Acid Preparation: Initial cell disruption step prior to DNA/RNA purification workflows.
