100X Poloxamer 188 is a stock of poloxamer 188, a nonionic triblock copolymer surfactant, in purified water. It is supplied as a 100-fold concentrate for dilution to a 1X working concentration. The 100 mL fill suits bench-scale and shake-flask work.

It is commonly used to protect suspension cells, such as CHO, HEK293, and insect cells, from shear and bubble damage during sparging and agitation. Add 10 mL per liter of medium or feed for a 1X working concentration.

  • Protein Purification and Chromatography: Nonionic surfactant added to chromatography buffers to reduce protein loss to surfaces.
  • Filtration Process Aid: Nonionic surfactant for reducing adsorption and product loss during sterile filtration of process intermediates.
  • Flow Cytometry: Nonionic surfactant added to cell suspensions to reduce shear and cell loss during sorting.
