1X Tris-buffered saline (TBS), pH 7.4, Endotoxin Tested is an isotonic buffer intended for general laboratory use, including sample preparation, dilution, washing steps in immunoassays and blotting workflows, and routine cell and protein handling where a physiologically relevant pH and ionic environment are required.

  • 25mM Tris-HCl pH 7.4
  • 150mM Sodium Chloride
  • Western Blotting (TBS/TBS-T): Used for membrane washes and antibody dilutions to minimize nonspecific binding.

  • ELISA: Serves as a wash buffer and sample diluent to reduce background and maintain consistent ionic strength.

  • Immunohistochemistry/Immunofluorescence: Used for tissue and cell washing steps and as a base for blocking buffers.

  • Protein Handling and Storage: Maintains physiological pH and ionic strength for protein extraction, dilution, and storage.

  • Protein Purification: Utilized for column equilibration and wash steps in affinity and ion-exchange workflows.

  • Enzyme Assays: Provides stable pH 7.4 and 150 mM NaCl for reliable enzyme activity and kinetic measurements.

  • Cell Culture Rinsing: Sterile, endotoxin-tested buffer for isotonic rinsing of cells and tissues without phosphate.

  • Sample and Reagent Dilution: Used to dilute antibodies, standards, and reagents while preserving assay conditions.

  • Slide and Instrument Washing: Employed as a gentle rinse in microscopy and flow cytometry preparation steps.

  • General Laboratory Buffer: Phosphate-free buffer for applications where phosphate may interfere with downstream assays.

  • pH: 7.40 ± 0.04
  • Endotoxin: ≤0.5EU/mL
