Trypticase Soy Agar (TSA) Plate is a general-purpose agar medium for cultivation, isolation, and maintenance of nonfastidious microorganisms from clinical, environmental, and industrial sources.

Suitable for routine culture and enumeration of organisms such as Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa; plates are incubated according to organism requirements to obtain discrete colonies for downstream analysis.

  • 1.50% Tryptone
  • 0.50% Soytone
  • 0.50% Sodium Chloride
  • 1.50% Agar
  • General Microbial Cultivation: Broad-purpose growth and maintenance of nonfastidious aerobic and facultative bacteria from clinical, environmental, food, and industrial samples.

  • Environmental Monitoring (Settle Plates): 150 mm plates used for passive air monitoring in cleanrooms and controlled environments to assess viable airborne particulates.

  • Active Air Sampling: Quantification of airborne bioburden using compatible 150 mm air samplers in aseptic processing and pharmaceutical facilities.

  • Bioburden/TAMC Enumeration: Total aerobic microbial count of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and cleanroom utilities.

  • Food and Beverage Testing: Aerobic plate counts for product quality and hygiene monitoring of equipment and surfaces (e.g., swab-to-plate methods).

  • Water and Utility Monitoring: Heterotrophic plate counts for process water, purified water, and facility utilities.

  • Colony Isolation and Maintenance: Streaking, purification, and routine subculture from selective media or mixed samples.

  • Recovery of Stressed Organisms: Resuscitation of sublethally injured bacteria prior to downstream testing or enumeration.

  • Growth Promotion and QC Testing: Verification of media performance with compendial strains such as Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Bacillus subtilis, and Enterococcus faecalis.

  • Environmental Surface Hygiene Checks: Plating of swab samples from equipment, benches, and gowning areas to assess cleanliness.
