DNA Suspension Buffer, pH 8.0, DNase/RNase Tested is a buffered solution intended for resuspension, dilution, and storage of purified DNA. The pH 8.0 environment provides stable conditions for nucleic acids, and the composition includes a chelating agent to limit the effects of divalent metal ions.

This buffer is commonly used for handling plasmid DNA, genomic DNA, and PCR products prior to routine molecular biology workflows. Each lot is tested for detectable DNase and RNase activity.

  • 10mM Tris-HCl
  • 0.1mM EDTA
  • DNA Resuspension and Storage: Optimal for rehydrating and storing plasmid DNA, genomic DNA, PCR amplicons, and NGS libraries while maintaining pH 8.0.

  • Elution from Purification Media: Used to elute DNA from silica spin columns and magnetic beads without introducing nucleases.

  • Template Dilution for PCR/qPCR: Suitable diluent for DNA templates to support downstream amplification and quantitation.

  • Sequencing Sample Preparation: Maintains DNA integrity and consistency for Sanger and NGS sample submission.

  • Rehydration of Lyophilized DNA: Reconstitutes dried oligos, gBlocks, and dsDNA fragments for immediate use.

  • Preparation of DNA Standards and Controls: Provides a stable matrix for calibration curves and reference materials.

  • Library Preservation in Cloning/Assembly Workflows: Short- and long-term storage of Gibson/Golden Gate assemblies and donor DNA for CRISPR workflows.

  • Sample Transport and Archival: Protects DNA during handling and shipping by buffering pH and chelating trace metals.
