RDB Agar Plates are ready-to-use agar plates containing RDB medium for cultivation and enumeration of bacteria from diverse sample types, including food, environmental, and clinical specimens. The medium composition and pH are balanced to support recovery of stressed cells and to facilitate observation of colony morphology for routine quality control and microbiological testing.

  • RDB Agar Plates
  • Environmental Monitoring: RDB Agar Plates are used to collect and culture environmental swabs and air/surface samples for bioburden assessment.

  • Recovery of Stressed Cells: Supports resuscitation and growth of chlorine- or heat-stressed bacteria from water, disinfected surfaces, and process samples.

  • General Bacterial Cultivation: Cultivation and isolation of non-fastidious organisms such as Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Bacillus spp.

  • Colony Isolation and Enumeration: Streaking for single colonies and performing colony counts from mixed or diluted samples.

  • Quality Control Testing: Routine microbiological QC of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products in lab and manufacturing environments.

  • Strain Maintenance: Short-term storage and routine passaging of laboratory strains on a consistent solid medium.

  • Colony Morphology Screening: Visual differentiation and selection of colonies for downstream identification and testing.

  • Education and Training: Teaching basic aseptic technique, streaking, and colony isolation using RDB Agar Plates.
