Phosphoric acid solution for pH adjustment and buffer preparation in laboratory and bioprocess applications. Used to prepare phosphate buffers in combination with sodium or potassium phosphate salts, adjust pH of culture media and process solutions, and acidify samples for analytical workflows including chromatography and spectrophotometry.

Miscible with water and compatible with common laboratory materials such as glass and PTFE. Employed in acid-washing and descaling procedures where removal of inorganic deposits is required. Corrosive; handle with appropriate protective equipment and store in a tightly closed, chemically compatible container.

  • 17% Phosphoric Acid

  • pH Adjustment and Buffer Preparation: Used to acidify and adjust pH of buffers, media, and reagent solutions, including preparation of phosphate buffers.

  • HPLC Mobile Phases: Serves as a non-volatile acidifier in HPLC mobile phases for improved peak shape and consistent UV detection.

  • Ion-Exchange Chromatography: Utilized to set and maintain acidic pH in cation/anion exchange chromatography buffers for biomolecule separation.

  • Microbial Media Preparation: Adjusts media pH for culturing bacteria such as Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus.

  • Acid Washing of Labware: Employed for removing mineral residues and conditioning glassware prior to sensitive assays.
