20X PBS with 1.0% Tween-20 is a concentrated phosphate-buffered saline containing a nonionic surfactant for preparation of PBS-T working solutions. Dilution 1:20 with distilled or deionized water yields 1X PBS with 0.05% Tween-20 for routine wash steps in immunoassays, Western blotting, and ELISA procedures.

Formulated with sodium and potassium salts in a phosphate buffer system and supplemented with Tween-20 (polyoxyethylene (20) sorbitan monolaurate), this concentrate provides a convenient stock solution to standardize buffer preparation across experiments.

  • 2.7M Sodium Chloride
  • 54mM Potassium Chloride
  • 86mM Sodium Phosphate
  • 28mM Potassium Phosphate
  • 1.0% Tween-20

  • ELISA Wash Buffer: Plate washing to minimize nonspecific binding and background signal.

  • Western Blotting: Membrane washing between antibody incubations to reduce nonspecific interactions.

  • Immunohistochemistry/Immunocytochemistry: Washing and background reduction during antibody staining workflows.

  • Immunofluorescence Microscopy: Gentle washing of fixed cells/tissues to improve signal-to-noise.

  • Flow Cytometry: Cell washing during staining and post-incubation to decrease nonspecific binding.

  • Antibody/Reagent Dilution: Diluent for antibodies and conjugates to lower nonspecific interactions.

  • Bead-Based Immunoassays: Washing magnetic or latex beads in multiplex or pull-down assays.

  • General Plate/Surface Washing: Rinsing of protein-binding plates and assay surfaces to remove unbound reagents.
