1X PBS Solution, pH 7.4, is an isotonic phosphate-buffered saline suitable for maintaining physiological pH and ionic strength in laboratory workflows. It provides a neutral buffering environment consistent with common cell and molecular biology procedures.

Applications include cell washing, reagent and sample dilution, preparation of antibody solutions, and use as a rinse or suspension medium in immunoassays, microscopy, and nucleic acid or protein workflows.

  • 135mM Sodium Chloride
  • 2.7mM Potassium Chloride
  • 4.3mM Disodium Phosphate
  • 1.4mM Monopotassium Phosphate
  • Cell Culture Washing: Rinses cells to remove serum, enzymes, and debris while maintaining isotonic conditions.

  • Immunoassays (ELISA): Used for plate washing and sample dilution to minimize background and preserve antigen integrity.

  • Western Blotting: Serves as a wash and dilution buffer for antibodies to reduce nonspecific binding.

  • Flow Cytometry: Dilutes and washes cells for staining, preserving cell viability and scatter properties.

  • Microscopy/IHC/ICC: Washes and maintains cells/tissues during staining and imaging at physiological pH.

  • Sample and Reagent Dilution: Provides a stable, isotonic buffer for proteins, antibodies, and enzymes.

  • Cell Counting and Dissociation Workflows: Resuspends cells/pellets and supports trypan blue or viability assays.

  • Nucleic Acid Procedures: Rinses and handles samples in DNA/RNA workflows without chelating essential ions.

  • Microbial Cell Handling: Washes and resuspends bacterial pellets (e.g., Escherichia coli) for cloning and transformation steps.

  • Tissue Transport and Storage: Maintains osmolarity and pH for short-term handling of tissues and cells.
