0.1 M Nickel (II) Sulfate Solution is an aqueous preparation providing Ni2+ at a defined molar concentration for laboratory use. The solution presents the characteristic green color of hydrated nickel(II) salts and is suitable as a controlled source of nickel ions in chemical, biochemical, and materials workflows that require a standardized metal salt solution.

Typical uses include method development and calibration for analytical procedures, preparation of test mixtures and reaction media requiring Ni2+, and supplementation of experimental systems where a known nickel concentration is required. Store tightly closed and handle using appropriate personal protective equipment; avoid contact with incompatible materials.

  • 0.1M Nickel (II) Sulfate Solution

  • Immobilized Metal Affinity Chromatography (IMAC): Charges NTA/IDA resins with Ni2+ for His-tagged protein purification using 0.1M Nickel (II) Sulfate Solution.

  • Column Regeneration: Replenishes Ni2+ on depleted Ni-NTA/Ni-IDA affinity columns between purification cycles.

  • Biosensor Capture (SPR/BLI): Functionalizes NTA sensor surfaces with Ni2+ to immobilize His-tagged proteins for kinetic analyses.

  • Enzyme Assays: Supplies Ni2+ cofactor for nickel-dependent enzymes (e.g., urease, hydrogenases) to support activity and kinetics.

  • Microbial Culture Supplementation: Provides trace Ni2+ for maturation of nickel metalloenzymes in Escherichia coli and Helicobacter pylori under defined media conditions.

  • Analytical Calibration: Prepares Ni2+ standards for method development and instrument calibration in ICP-OES/ICP-MS/AAS workflows.

  • Nickel-Responsive Promoter Studies: Modulates expression from nickel-regulated operons (e.g., nik/rcn systems) in bacterial gene regulation experiments.
