70% (w/v) Glucose Solution is an aqueous stock of D-glucose (dextrose) at 700 g/L for use as a concentrated carbon source in laboratory workflows. It is used to prepare defined glucose concentrations in microbiological media, fermentation feeds, and cell culture formulations without substantially changing culture volume.

Common applications include supplementation of LB, TB, and defined media for E. coli and other bacteria, as well as yeast and mammalian cell processes, by aseptically adding the desired volume to reach target glucose levels (for example 0.2–2% w/v in media or feeds as required by the protocol).

  • 70% (w/v) Cerelose Anhydrous Dextrose (Glucose)

  • Microbial Culture Supplementation: Sterile carbon source to enrich media for Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, and yeast cultures.

  • Fed-Batch Fermentation Feed: Concentrated glucose feed for controlled growth and productivity in bioreactors, minimizing overflow metabolites.

  • Minimal/Defined Media Preparation: Stock solution for M9, MOPS, and other defined media formulations.

  • Agar Plate Supplementation: Added to LB or minimal agar to support rapid growth or assess carbon-dependent phenotypes.

  • Mammalian Cell Culture Adjustment: Used to set or boost glucose levels in media (e.g., DMEM) and manage osmolality.

  • Metabolism and Enzyme Assays: Substrate for glycolytic activity measurements and catabolite repression/diauxic shift studies.

  • Bioprocess Titration and Control: Carbon titration in DO-stat or µ-stat strategies during scale-up.

  • Sterile Post-Sterilization Additive: Added aseptically to heat-labile formulations without autoclaving.
