20% Glucose Solution is a sterile, ready-to-use D-glucose solution intended for laboratory media supplementation and reagent preparation.

Commonly used as a defined carbon source in rich and minimal media, it is added aseptically to sterilized broths or agars to prepare glucose-supplemented formulations for cultivation of heterotrophic microorganisms, including E. coli and yeast.

Suitable for preparing glucose-containing LB, 2×YT, TB, and defined media such as M9, for workflows involving cloning, maintenance of plasmid-bearing strains under antibiotic selection, and general microbial culture.

  • 20% Glucose Solution
  • Microbial Culture Supplementation: Added as a carbon source to bacterial and yeast media; 20% Glucose Solution enables quick adjustment of glucose levels for organisms like Escherichia coli and Bacillus subtilis.

  • Minimal Media Preparation: Used to supply the primary carbon source in defined media (e.g., M9) for growth of Escherichia coli.

  • Transformation Recovery Media: Supplemented into SOB/SOC to support efficient recovery and outgrowth of transformed E. coli.

  • Fermentation and Fed‑Batch Processes: Employed as a concentrated feed to control carbon supply and growth rates in microbial fermentations.

  • Mammalian Cell Culture Supplementation: Used to increase glucose concentrations in media (e.g., DMEM) for high‑glucose culture conditions.

  • Enzyme and Metabolic Assays: Provides a defined glucose source for assays involving glucose oxidase, glycolysis, or respiration measurements.

  • Catabolite Repression Studies: Added to manipulate carbon catabolite repression and regulatory responses in bacteria.

  • Glucose Agar Plate Preparation: Incorporated into agar to assess carbohydrate utilization and select for glucose‑dependent phenotypes.
